Mission Statement:

To enhance the quality of life for persons

who have a developmental disability.

Developmental Disability Act P.L. 98-527



To promote the rights, dignity and full community inclusion

of persons who have a developmental disability.



The Mission and Goal of the Special Friends Advocacy Program is met through adherence to the Montana Citizen Advocacy Program Evaluation Standards.

The principles and practices include, but are not limited to, the following activities:


Develop and support partnerships between a volunteer and a person who has a developmental disability.

Provide education and experiences for students and the community which will increase awareness of the value of diverse populations.

Assist persons who have a developmental disability with rights-related and/or specific issues.

            Facilitate and support self-advocacy groups and their related activities.

Offer a variety of recreational, social and sports activities for children and adults who have a developmental disability.

            Promote the utilization of natural community services.
